ARTIST STATEMENT:

I am an Entertainment Lighting Designer and Engineer. My work investigates the ways in which lighting intensity, distribution, color, and movement influence our perception and understanding of stories. My approach is guided by deep dramaturgical understanding, cultural sensitivity, equity and sustainability on and off the stage. I tell stories to reflect on our past, observe our present and shape our futures. I believe deeply that the path to collective liberation is forged through communities coming together to not only to hear stories but to tell them. Better yet, to write them. As an artist, I paint with an intangible medium, layered over rich text and performance, to produce meaningful narratives of humanity.
